KL - Taipei
Taipei - Ximen
Ximen - Yilan County
Yilan County - Taichung
Taichung - Mount Syue
This expedition was by far the craziest 'determination' I have ever made. Going for a snow hiking three months before getting married wasn't really a wise decision. Everybody blamed me for being irrational. Well, I am that persistent ;p
Mount Syue or Xueshan is Taiwan's second highest peak (3886 metres above sea level). Xueshan means Snow Mountain and it is possibly the most beautiful place in the whole of Taiwan. This marked as the most challenging climb I have ever experienced. Hiking in snow was very difficult and effortful though. It was very risky since I have never experienced alpine climb before.
Day 1- Arrived in Taipei. We made sure that we had an ample rest and sleep well.

Day 2 - Moved to Yilan County by bus. It took 6 hours from Yilan County to Taichung.
Day 3- Arrived in Heping, Taichung. Moved to Wulling Farm by truck. Started the journey to the mountain on day 4.
The distance was 13 km from Wulling Farm to the summit. There was no porter to carry our backpacks. So we need to carry everything by ourselves....and that was another challenge!
Day 4- Wulling Farm to Sanlioujiou Hut / base camp

All of us safely reached the summit of Mount Syue. Yay!!!
Chemmm
Descending at 3.30 pm
As usual, climbing down the mountain was the hardest part of all
It was tiring walk down to the base camp from the summit. The Black Forest was too dark and scary at night. One of the climbers got badly injured after falling from the cirque nearing the summit. It was believed due to the steep ascent and decreased air pressure. Luckily there was nothing serious.
Day 6- Climbed down to the Trailhead and Wulling Farm.
Selamat sampai di Wulling Farm. Alhamdulillah. 5 hari tak mandi woi.
Ready to leave Wulling Farm. It was a super loooooooong journey to Taipei. Aku muntah 6 kali dalam bas.

Good night, Taipei. Good night, Taiwan. Thank you for the sweet memory.
I will still eager to walk in the dark, catch the sunrise and stand on a mountain- with my beloved. One fine day. Inshaa Allah.
Love,
Yaya / Ummi Naailah.
